These Terms of Service govern your use of the Jim Fires Training platform, including all courses, content, and account features. Please read them carefully before registering or purchasing. By using this platform you agree to these terms in full.
By creating an account or purchasing a course on Jim Fires Training, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use this platform.
Jim Fires Training is designed exclusively for licensed or active Florida firefighters and fire service personnel seeking continuing education (CE) credit through the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal. Use of this platform for any other purpose is not authorized.
Course purchases on Jim Fires Training are one-time payments that grant you one year of access to the purchased course content from the date of purchase, including any updates to that course during your access period. This is the standard industry model for professional CE platforms — your access is tied to a single annual period rather than a perpetual license, which allows us to keep content current and pricing straightforward.
Refund Policy: We want you to be confident in your purchase. Refunds may be requested before you begin any lesson within a course. Once any lesson video has been viewed or any quiz has been started, the course content has been accessed and no refund will be issued. This policy exists because our course content is digital and immediately consumable.
To request a refund before accessing content, email support@jimfires.training with your order details. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method.
Jim Fires Training courses are built from the official Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (BFST) approved syllabi. Curriculum accuracy and alignment with Florida state requirements is verified by a Florida state-certified fire instructor who serves as instructor of record.
Certificate issuance: A certificate of completion is issued automatically when you achieve a score of 75% or higher on the final course exam. You may retake the exam if you do not pass on the first attempt.
FireTRAQ reporting: We submit the required completion data (name, FFID, course, completion date) to support reporting in FireTRAQ, Florida's CE tracking system. However, the award and recognition of CE credit is governed exclusively by the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal. Jim Fires Training does not control the FireTRAQ system and cannot guarantee how or when credit appears in your FireTRAQ record.
If you experience a discrepancy in your FireTRAQ CE record, contact us at support@jimfires.training and we will provide documentation of your completion.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Do not share your password. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
The following activities are strictly prohibited on Jim Fires Training:
Violations of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension and referral to the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal where applicable.
All course content, video lessons, instructional materials, quiz content, visual design, and platform software are the exclusive property of Jim Fires Training and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property law.
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to view and use the purchased course content solely for your own professional CE education. No other rights are granted. You may not copy, reproduce, record, share, or create derivative works from any platform content.
Jim Fires Training is an educational platform. We provide course instruction and CE documentation support. We are not a licensing authority, employer, or regulatory body.
CE credit decisions, certification status, and employment consequences related to your CE record are made exclusively by the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal, your employer, or other applicable authority. Jim Fires Training is not liable for any decisions made by those parties based on your CE record, FireTRAQ status, or completion certificates.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jim Fires Training's total liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the specific course giving rise to the claim.
Jim Fires Training reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, engage in prohibited conduct, or are found to involve fraudulent CE claims.
If your account is suspended for a terms violation, access to purchased course content may be restricted. If your account is suspended in error, contact us at support@jimfires.training and we will review your case promptly. Accounts in good standing retain access to all purchased content for the remainder of their one-year access period.
